IAS Sponsored and Supported Meetings

To promote the study of sedimentology, the IAS sponsors selected meetings (e.g., conferences, symposia, field workshops, short courses), usually in the form of student travel grants. The main goal is to support PhD and other students with their sedimentology studies. The IAS also supports meetings by giving them additional exposure on the IAS website, social media, and in its newsletters.

Longer-term initiatives may also be sponsored, such as online sedimentology resources and other initiatives that meet IAS's core purpose to facilitate and promote scientific knowledge in the field of sedimentology and to promote the study of sedimentology in the broadest possible international context. Support for these is usually for one year (seed funding) with the possibility of a one-year renewal.

More details of how to apply for sponsorship can be found on the IAS sponsorship page, and initial inquiries through the website contact form are welcomed.
