29th IMS - Scientific programme
29th IAS Meeting of Sedimentology

Scientific programme

The scientific programme is the basis for the CALL OF ABSTRACTS and for keynote speakers. Plenary lectures, keynote speakers and a public lecture of general interest are planned. In May-June 2012, the number and range of abstracts submitted will be taken into account to design the final programme and time table.

  • Open Symposium

The broad ranging scientific programme of the 29th IAS Meeting of Sedimentology includes 40 sessions grouped in 14 themes. Four to six simultaneous sessions will run, depending on the number of oral contributions.

All sessions in the scientific programme are expected to include oral and poster presentations. Participants will only be permitted to deliver one oral and one poster presentation as first author, but they may be co-authors of multiple presentation modes. Keynote speakers may deliver a second oral presentation in the session programme.

Keynote lectures

Keynote lectures are planned. More information will be announced later. Please check back regularly.

Plenary lectures

  • Knut Bjorlykke: Relationships between depositional environments, burial history and rock properties. Some principal aspects of diagenetic processes
  • Kevin T. Pickering: Identifying tectonic and climatic drivers for deep-marine siliciclastic systems
  • Adolf Seilacher: An-actualistic sediments in the Precambrian

Public lecture

  • Wolfgang Frisch: Mountain uplift reflected in sedimentary record - the example of the Eastern Alps
