Sorby Medalist

At the 18th International Sedimentological Congress in Mendoza, the highest award of the International Association of Sedimentologists, the Sorby Medal, has been given to John Bridge for "distinction in Sedimentology". The citation by Jim Best and Rudy Slingerland, and John Bridge's acceptance speech are published in the April 2011 issue of Sedimentology.

Honorary Member

John Hudson and Maurice Tucker have been awarded an Honorary Membership of the International Association of Sedimentologists for being "distinguished sedimentologists who have played an important role in the affairs of the Association". Citations and acceptance speeches are published in Sedimentology of April 2011.
